Town finances and legal issues are complex. I don't presume to have all the answers, nor do I underestimate the importance of research and asking questions. Status quo is not necessarily the only answer; new approaches may work better. We must be willing to try new ways of conducting the business of Town government.
Our town is too small for divisiveness. Cooperation is vital - both for our own sanity and for the town's best interests. I have a record of working cooperatively with other boards and departments; I want to continue that effort on the Board of Selectmen and to encourage open communication and decision-making. I am willing to listen and to explore new ideas.
Being active in town service for over 20 years has taught me that cooperation and consensus building is the most successful approach. I run as an independent and reject the notion that residents only care about their own special interests. We are in this together and I believe that we should act that way.
